Greetings from Sorrento

Hi everyone. We are aware that the blogspot has not been avidly updated but we have been far too busy enjoying ourselves.
After Avignon which was lovely we drove all the way to Italy and stayed at a lovely campsite near La Spezia. We met a fun French couple who shared our enthusiasm for wine and beer. Very bad hangovers ensued.
This was a lovely area but we didnt even leave the campsite.
We then went to stay with Daves cousin in Anghiari, in Tuscany. Very beautiful area and we had a great time seeing Dave's relatives swiming in the pool, exploring the area (Siena, Anghiari, Sansepolcro) and eating and drinking. We met Fred and Gail the French couple in Siena for the day and had a nice meel and a beer.
We then moved on to Rome to a very flash campsite where there was opera and classical music played in the shower blocks and a fountain. Rome was Rome we got flooded in a storm, stuck without public transport on the Saturday night because everything stops at midnight and had to walk about 5 miles back to the campsite. We did however really enjoy the Catacombs and the Colosseum. Also saw various other ruins and the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St Peters and the dome.
Next we drove to Sorrento. Really lovely here. We have done trips to Capri, the Amalfi coast, had a couple of great nights out in beautiful Sorrento and today we have just come back from Pompei and Vesuvius which was very interesting. We have also had two amazing free firework displays in the bay in Sorrento. On the downside we have had two big electric storms and torrential rain. Moving on to Sicily tomorrow
